This lovely centerpiece was the show stopper at a wedding I did in September. From the vintage frame, to the candles, and the fluffy flowers, this centerpiece really captured the romance and beauty of the venue at Cedarhurst Mansion.

A simple gathering of flowers and greens was the perfect touch to accent the aisle of this garden wedding. This wedding took place at the gorgeous gardens located at Trellis Events in Stillwater.

I absolutely love fall… it’s my favorite season of the year!! So come September I start to get excited about my line-up of fall weddings. There is just something about combining the warm colors of red, orange, yellow and brown that inspire me. Check out these lovely fall bouquets, they make me “fall” in love with the season all over again!

The big day has finally arrived, it’s your wedding day…. all the planning and details come down to this moment. You’re florist has just handed you the bouquet that you will carry down the aisle. All the flowers a meticulously placed and the ribbon is delicately wrapped around the stems. But have you ever thought about how the beautiful floral creations come together for your big day? I thought it would be fun to walk through the process of how everything comes together from the moment the flowers are unpacked to when they are placed in your hands.
Three days before your wedding the flowers are delivered, unpacked, and placed into buckets of water in the cooler. Flowers need at least a day to hydrate and toughen up for their big debut.

The following day is flower creation day! The bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, etc. are put together. The workshop floor tends to get pretty messy after a long night of working.

After many hours of hard work, the bouquets are completed, the ribbon is wrapped, and these beauties are ready to hang out in the cooler until the big day.

The morning of the wedding the flowers are carefully packed into boxes and loaded into the car ready for thier final destination.

After a quick car ride, the flowers arrive at the hotel ready to be delivered to the bride and then it’s off to the ceremony and reception site to finish the set-up and decorating.

At the reception and ceremony site the flowers are placed on the tables and all the final decorating details are set. The only thing that is left is for the bride to see how everything has come together for her big day and to enjoy every minute of it!

The bouquet is from a wedding I did in 2008. I just love the multitude of textures and shades of pink making up the gorgeous bouquet.

I absolutely love it when I meet a bride who really want’s to have fun with her flowers. When I met Meghan the vision for her flowers was one of clean and simple clusters of the same type of flowers and also incorporating fun textures and colors. The bride’s bouquet was a stunning mix of bright orange flowers and she personalized it with a framed picture of her grandfather. The bridesmaids carried simple cluster of white spider mums which stood out against their grass green dresses. The centerpiece and cake flowers were also shades of orange and really made the reception site pop with color.

This bouquet was created by individually hand-wiring over 3 dozen individual Cymbidium Orchid blossoms. It was a stunning bouquet for an equally stunning bride.

Red and purple was the name of the game in fall of 2010. Here is a snippet of the red and purple weddings I had the pleasure of creating for some lovely couples!

Stephanie and Trevor were married this March at the charmingly eclectic Loring Pasta Bar with the reception following at the Varsity Theater. This couple wanted the flowers to reflect the unique richness of the venues. When picking the colors for her flowers, Stephanie realized her inspiration came from her kitchen! I based the flower vision off of the rich reds, purples and oranges that adorned her kitchen walls and the offbeat venues. I knew I had to create something special for this unique couple! I have to give a special thanks to Stephanie’s mom Sue who worked hard to plan a big part of the flowers for her daughter’s day since the couple were planning from out of state.

Special thanks to Spencer Combs for the beautiful images!
I had the opportunity to work with some really wonderful vendors last summer to do a photo shoot at the historic St. James Hotel in Red Wing. Kari Warwick owner of Bliss Wedding and Event Planning pulled together all the details to make this vintage photo shoot absolutely stunning! Take a peek!
